Doedel would stay there for 43 years under the strict supervision of the colonial A compelling performance about freedom and justice through the eyes of Javanese-Surinamese freedom fighters
BRADA is a multidisciplinary performance that looks at the consequences of centuries of oppression and the personal stories of Surinamese people who strive for freedom. With humor, nostalgic visuals, combative music, poetic dance and intense confrontations, the performance unfolds as a love letter to the older generation. The performance reveals the heroes, the villains, and the forgotten freedom fighters who fought for their ancestors, family, and children.
